Anwar Sadath scores a hat-trick in Aluva, while Roji M. John tastes his second consecutive win in Angamaly
Aluva and Angamaly stood with the Congress once again amid the Left wave in the State.
A traditional citadel of the Congress, Aluva witnessed the hat-trick win of Anwar Sadath after he defeated Shelna Nishad of the Left Democratic Front (LDF) by a margin of 18,886 votes.
His maiden win was in 2011 when he defeated A.M. Yousuf of the CPI(M) by a margin of 13,214 votes. In 2016, Mr. Sadath had improved his overall lead to 18,835 votes against V. Saleem of the CPI(M).

Congress legislator from Mulugu D. Anasuya alias Seethakka has requested Chief Minister K. Chandrasekhar Rao to include COVID-19 treatment under the Aarogyasri scheme so that members of many poor families succumbing to the virus infection due to their inability to bear the hospitalisation expenses could get cashless treatment.
Ms. Seethakka, along with State president of National Students’ Union of India (NSUI), the students wing of Congress, B. Venkat launched an indefinite hunger strike at the Indira Park protest camp here on Monday demanding inclusion of COVID treatment under the Aarogyasri scheme and arranging free ambulance facility to bring COVID-positives to hospitals.

The protest was attended by senior Congress leaders, including Rajya Sabha MP Deepender Singh Hooda, former railway minister Pawan Bansal, and party spokesperson Alka Lamba.

NEW DELHI: The Congress party s student wing, National Student Union of India (NSUI), organised the Chhatra Adhikar March on Friday to protest against rising unemployment in the country.
Thousands of students and party workers from Punjab, Haryana, Chhattisgarh, Rajasthan, Uttar Pradesh and Himachal Pradesh marched towards the Parliament building raising slogans of Naukri Do Ya Degree Wapis Lo (give us jobs or take our degrees back) to protest various issues including unemployment, scholarships and fellowship grants.

New Delhi [India], March 13 (ANI): Demanding justice for the youth of India, who is one of the biggest victims of rising unemployment in the country, the student wing of the Indian National Congress led the protest march Chhatr Adhikar March from National Students Union of India (NSUI) headquarters to the Parliament on Friday.
Talking about the march, NSUI National President Neeraj Kundan who led the party s protest march informed that before the march, NSUI had started a campaign called Naukri Do Ya Degree Vapis Lo . This protest was against the autocratic government and their failed governance, he said.
