Johns Creek Police to join with Kroger in drug take-back

JOHNS CREEK, Ga. — The Johns Creek Police Department is participating again in this year’s Drug Enforcement Agency’s National Drug Take-Back event Saturday, April 24. SPECIAL All around the country, law enforcement agencies will partner with the DEA to educate the public about prescription drug abuse while also providing a safe and easy manner to dispose of prescription drugs. According to the DEA, the non-medical use of prescription drugs is the second most common form of drug abuse in the nation. Proper disposal ensures prescriptions aren’t used after their expiration date or by a non-prescribed individual which can lead to accidental poisoning, overdose or abuse.

Briefs: Three injured in Ohio 206 crash Staff Report Three injured in Ohio 206 crash COSHOCTON - The Coshocton County Sheriff s Office is investigating a minor injury crash from shortly after midnight Friday in the 31000 block of Ohio 206.  Authorities stated a 2003 Pontiac Grand Prix driven by Jeremiah Brock, 23, of Walhonding, was heading south when it failed to negotiate a turn at Township Road 358. The car went off the left side of the road and overturned onto its top.  Brock and a front seat passenger, Jade Hook, 22, of Coshocton, were treated on scene for minor injuries by Cosohcton County Emergency Medical Services. A backseat passenger, Adryanna Tomlin, 21, of Coshocton, was transported by EMS to Coshocton Regional Medical Center for treatment.

The event will also have a TikTok challenge and will run end on April 24 to coincide with National Drug Take Back Day. Dug Takes Back Day addresses a crucial public safety and health issue. Misused prescription stimulants, sedatives, and tranquilizers are of great concern, as most abused prescription drugs are obtained from family members and friends. This event provides and opportunity for Americans to prevent drug addiction and overdose deaths by turning in old and used medications.

(Shutterstock) FOXBOROUGH, MA The Foxborough Police Department will join cities and towns throughout Massachusetts participating in National Drug Take Back Day. The police department will accept expired, unused and unwanted prescription drugs from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m., Saturday, April 24, at the public safety building at 8 Chestnut St. Drop-offs are anonymous, and no paperwork is necessary. Personal information should be blacked out on the label, but medication name and dosage information must remain visible. Prescription, non-prescription and veterinary pills will be accepted. Sharps will also be accepted as long as they are stored properly.
