The Indian Police Foundation (IPF), a police think tank, has been asked by some senior police officers to move the Supreme Court for a review of the court’s directives on the handcuffing of prisoners. In the case of Citizens for Democracy vs the State of Assam, the apex court had earlier issued detailed directives regarding the handcuffing of the arrested persons and jailed prisoners.

ISLAMABAD: All the five officials of Anti-Terrorism Squad (ATS) involved in the killing of the 21-year-old youth on Jan 2 have been dismissed from service.
Moreover, two separate requests have been sent to the Interior Ministry and the Islamabad High Court (IHC) for constitution of a judicial commission to probe the incident.
The dismissal orders were issued from the office of the senior superintendent of police (SSP) Islamabad, which is being looked after by Deputy Inspector General of Police (Operations) Waqaruddin Syed since 2019.

All five officials of an Islamabad Anti-Terrorism Squad involved in the killing of 21-year-old Usama Satti on Jan. 2 have been dismissed from service for “misconduct,” according to a notification.
Issued from the office of the Islamabad senior superintendent of police, the orders said that Sub-Inspector Iftikhar, Constable Mustafa, Shakeel, Mudassar, and Saeed had been on duty on Jan. 2 when the incident occurred. The notification said they had chased a white car at around 1 a.m., opening indiscriminate fire on it that resulted in the death of Satti.
