Soyabean futures on NCDEX on fire, rule 40% higher than CBOT

Oilseed crushers say movement ‘unnatural’, demand SEBI action An “unusual” movement in soyabean futures on the National Commodities and Derivatives Exchange (NCDEX) has led to a hue and cry being raised with oilseed crushers complaining to the Centre.
The current movement has resulted in Indian futures prices ruling at least 40 per cent higher than Chicago Board of Trade (CBOT) soyabean futures.
On Tuesday, soyabean for delivery this month ended at ₹6,910 a quintal, while May and June futures closed at ₹6,727 and ₹ 6,570, respectively. NCDEX spot soyabean (Indore delivery) was quoted at 7,070 a quintal.

Know the contract specifications of steel futures

The unit size of the contract is 10 MT (metric tonnes), i.e., one lot of futures contract will consist of 10 MT of steel, and the price will be quoted in rupees per MT; tick size of the contract is set at ₹10. Note that, like any futures contract on other commodities, these are compulsory delivery contracts. The Final Settlement Price (FSP) will be the last spot price on the day of expiry and 20th of every month will be the expiry day. Trading hours will be between 9:00 AM and 9:00 PM from Monday to Friday. But on expiry day, the contract that expires on that day will be allowed to trade only until 5:00 PM.
Turmeric prices rise in India on demand pick-up, fears of lower output
On National Commodities and Derivatives Exchange (NCDEX), unpolished turmeric for delivery in April ruled at Rs 6,198 on January 13. According to NCDEX, spot prices have increased to Rs 5,725 from Rs 5,582 a week ago.

Turmeric prices in India have increased by Rs 200-300 a quintal in primary agricultural markets on pick up in demand and fears of lower production this year.
“Prices have increased in the last 2-3 days across all centres. In some places, prices are up as high as Rs 400. Demand usually picks up after January 15 and this increase can be related to it,” said Erode Turmeric Merchants Association President RKV Ravishankar.
