Israeli Defense Minister Benny Gantz signed an order designating the Palestinian NGO Samidoun as a terrorist organization, the Ministry announced on Sunday. Gantz accused Samidoun of acting as the international branch of the far-left Popular Front for the Liberation of Palestine.
The PFLP has orchestrated several terror attacks globally, as well as many targeting Israeli civilians and soldiers, and has thus been designated as a terrorist organization by Israel (1986), the United States (1997), the European Union (2002), Canada (2013), and several other countries.
Meanwhile, the Samidoun Palestinian Prisoner Solidarity Network, founded in 2012, is active in Europe and North America, where it purportedly tries to “build solidarity with Palestinian prisoners in their struggle for freedom.” As such, journalists have used Samidoun’s purported expertise in articles about incarcerated Palestinians. i24News – Israeli Defense Minister and Alternate Prime Minister Benny Gantz signed Tuesday an order to seize four million dollars transferred from Iran to Gaza’s ruling faction Hamas, the Defense Ministry announced in a statement.
At the recommendation of the National Bureau for Counter Terror Financing (NBCTF), Gantz signed the decree in the attempt to foil funds for developing terrorist infrastructure in the Gaza Strip, as well as paying salaries to Hamas members.
The order is aimed against Gazan businessman Zuhir Shamalch and his money-changing firm, “Al-Mutahadun.”
A similar order was signed in February, 2020. But following the move, the Gaza company began operating under the name, “Al-Markaziya Lil-Sirafa.”

Defense Minister Benny Gantz on Tuesday signed an order to seize $4 million that had been transferred from Iran to the Hamas terror group via a Gaza Strip money changer, his ministry said in a statement.
“The money was intended for the development of Hamas terror infrastructure in Gaza, including the manufacture of weapons and payments to the organization’s activists, and its source was the Iranian regime, which continues to act against the State of Israel,” the Defense Ministry statement said.
The order was issued against a Gaza businessman, Zuhir Shamalch, and his money changing business, Almarkesiya Lelitzrafah.

Israel has confiscated $4 million in funds transferred from Iran to the Hamas terrorist organization, the Ministry of Defense announced Tuesday.
Acting on the recommendation of the National Bureau for Counter Terror Financing, Defense Minister Benny Gantz signed the order seizing the funds.
The money was intended for the development of Hamas’ terrorist infrastructure in Gaza, including the production of weapons and payment for the organization’s operatives, and was sent by the Iranian government, the Ministry of Defense said.
