Tine Fischer, founder and director of Copenhagen-based film festival CPH:DOX, is to part ways with the film organization following this year’s festival.

A documentary about the everyday lives of women on a halting site, an animated film about life, death and rebirth, and a dark comedy about bereavement, have been chosen as the successful applicants for Screen Wexford’s ‘Short Film Fund Initiative’.
The three projects, all featuring local filmmakers, will now receive €2,500 in funding for production costs, as well as equipment support from lighting company Teach Solas to the value of €1,500, and a professional mentor to support them throughout the process.
The fund is an initiative of Wexford County Council’s Arts Office in conjunction with Bodecii Film and is run by Screen Wexford, the county’s agency for promoting Film and TV production and training.

Denmark’s Maja Jul Larsen has bested strong opposition to take this year’s Nordisk Film & TV Fond Prize for DR’s “Cry Wolf,” Larsen’s first series as a creator and lead-writer.
The win, announced at a Göteborg Festival TV Drama Vision award ceremony on Tuesday, goes to one of the rising stars on Denmark’s screenwriting scene who in a relatively short career – she graduated from Denmark’s National Film School in 2007 – has run an up an impressive curriculum working on “Borgen,” “Follow the Money” and “The Legacy.”

Penned by Danish screenwriter Kim Fupz Aakeson (“Dancers”), HBO Europe’s new show “Welcome to Utmark” is one buzzy contender for this year’s Nordisk Film & TV Fond Prize, whose announcement on Feb. 3 marks one highlight at the Göteborg Festival TV Drama Vision.
The eight-part series, produced by Norway’s Paradox, represents a clear bell-weather to HBO Europe’s ambitions for Scandinavia, mixing some of the finest talent in the region, led by Icelandic director Dagur Kári (“Virgin Mountain”) and lensed by Norwegian DP Andreas Johannessen.
