A Third of #COVID19 Fraud Victims Go Hungry

Most US victims of pandemic-related identity fraud in 2020 still have not had their issues resolved, and a third (33%) claim they didn’t have enough money to buy food or pay for utilities last year as a result, according to a new report.
2021 Consumer Aftermath Report on interviews with 427 identity crime victims who contacted the non-profit before and during the crisis.
The FTC claimed that it received twice as many identity theft reports last year versus 2019, with those related to unemployment benefits hitting over 390,000 versus just 13,000 in 2019.

WASHINGTON, May 25, 2021 /PRNewswire/ Today, more than 130 healthcare groups applauded the introduction of the Pharmacy and Medically Underserved Areas Enhancement Act (S. 1362, H.R. 2759), legislation that will ensure that Medicare beneficiaries in medically underserved areas have access to pharmacists primary care services.
In a letter sent to the bill s original sponsors Sen. Chuck Grassley (R-IA), Sen. Bob Casey (D-PA), Sen. Sherrod Brown (D-OH), Rep. G.K. Butterfield (D-NC), and Rep. David McKinley (R-WV) the healthcare groups, including rural health advocates, consumer groups, and pharmacy organizations, call for the removal of restrictions on seniors access to care.

Consumers have reported receiving fictitious email messages, which allege to be initiated by the Office of the Comptroller of the Currency (OCC) or senior officials of the agency regarding funds purportedly under the control of the OCC. The notification informs the recipient that a “Bitcoin Wallet Address ID NO” is required to allow for a purported transfer of funds. The email contains typographical errors and reads as follows:
