80th National Folk Festival aiming for in-person event in September

SALISBURY, Md. Salisbury wants its third National Folk Festival, the 80th anniversary of the nationally produced event, to be in-person. Back in April 2020, the COVID-19 pandemic forced organizers to delay the event by one year. And as a some sister festivals across the country have announced virtual plans in a second pandemic summer, National Folk Festival local manager Caroline O Hare sent out a season update from the National Council for the Traditional Arts. Her team is still eyeing an outside, in-person event for Sept. 10-12. We wanted to update people that we are still hoping and planning for an in-person event in Salisbury, O Hare told Delmarva Now Monday.
