Watch night service: Don’t prophesy deaths of people – Opoku Onyina warn Prophets LISTEN 1
The former Chairman of the Church of Pentecost, Apostle Prof. Opoku Onyina has cautioned prophets against prophesying the deaths of prominent people in the country.
It has become the trend over the years that some prophets during the 31st December Watch night church service, prophesy the deaths of eminent persons, a development which has been condemned by many right-thinking members of society as it creates unnecessary fear and sometimes psychologically affects the individuals mentioned.
Delivering a sermon at the governing New Patriotic Party’s National Thanksgiving Service on Sunday to thank God for the 2020 election victory, Apostle Prof. Opoku Onyina stated that such prophecies create unnecessary tension an retards growth.
Apostle Professor Opoku Onyinah, the Immediate Past Chairman of the Church of Pentecost, says he prays for an end of the practice where parliamentary candidates share monies to delegates to vote for them. He said this was because the parliamentary candidates were supposed to be advocates for judicious use of state funds, and be national heroes in the fight against bribery and corruption, lateness and laziness towards work. Apostle Onyinah said this on Sunday when delivering a sermon at the National Thanksgiving Service, organised by the New Patriotic Party (NPP), at the Forecourt of the State House, following the Party’s victory in the 2020 general election.
President-elect Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo has assured that he will continue to work in the interest of all Ghanaians in his second term as President of Ghana.
Addressing the New Patriotic Party (NPP) National Thanksgiving Service on Sunday, December 27 in Accra, the President said he will continue to work in their interest of not only the over 6.7million Ghanaians that voted for him but also the over 6.2million Ghanaians that did not vote for him in the December 7 Presidential election. I want to thank the people of Ghana for maintaining their confidence in our leadership of the nation, especially the over 6.7million people who voted for me. But, in singling them out, I also want to assure the 6.2million who did not vote for me that I will have their interest at heart and in mind in all that I do, the President said to cheers from thousands of NPP Executives and supporters who gathered at the forecourt of the State House.
