Police find âhiddenâ bullet-ridden, blood-stained vehicle linked to Wentworth drive-by shooting

Durban - A vehicle with bullet holes and blood stains, hidden in a garage in Wentworth, has been impounded and positively linked to a drive-by shooting incident in the area.
Members of the Provincial Organised Crime Investigations, Crime Intelligence, National Intervention Unit and Durban Metro executed a search warrant at a property in Pirie Road in Wentworth.
âUpon searching the house, police found a vehicle hidden in the garage with bullet holes and blood stains.
âNo one was in the house and the vehicle was impounded by police for further investigation.

Warrant Officer Deon Kruger passed away at the age of 54 on Saturday 2 January.
Kruger embarked on his career as a dedicated officer in blue on 1 January 1988, and served in the police service for just over 33 years.
He started out as an instructor at the police training academy in Tshwane and in 1993 went on to serve as part of the Public Order Policing Unit (Pops) in Polokwane.
He was transferred to Kuils River (also as part of Pops) before joining the National Intervention Unit in Bishop Lavis and Cape Town. He served as designated second-hand goods officer at the Somerset West Police Station, where he was employed since 2015.

A clandestine operation by a number of specialised policing units led to the discovery of drugs worth more than R100,000 near the home of slain alleged drug kingpin Yaganathan Pillay, known as Teddy Mafia, on Wednesday morning.
TimesLIVE has learnt that members of the Hawks tactical response unit and the national intervention unit from Pietermaritzburg, together with members of the Durban Flying Squad, swooped on a block of flats opposite Pillay s home on Taurus and Table Mountain streets in Shallcross, south of Durban, about 5am.

cash-in-transit heist has been foiled thanks to a crime intelligence
operation that left four suspects fatally wounded and firearms
recovered.
The deceased were part of a group of armed robbers
who were allegedly on the way to commit a cash-in-transit heist robbery
on Thursday, in Soweto.
A manhunt has been launched for other suspects who fled the scene.
Police were acting on information they had received about the planned attack on a cash van.
Police spokesperson Colonel Athlenda Mathe said police foiled the robbery at a filling station in Bram Fischerville, Soweto.
