This week (1-7 June) is National Volunteers Week- the annual celebration of volunteering and the contributions of volunteers across the UK for a huge variety of organisations. National Volunteers Week is promoted by the NCVO, whose mission it is to champion the voluntary sector and volunteering through connecting, representing and supporting voluntary organisations.
We would like to use this week to highlight the support and experiences of our volunteers and thank them for their contributions. Without the involvement of volunteer members, CIfA and our impact would not be as great. During this last year we, like other organisations, feel more grateful than ever.

A volunteer engineer helped modify a walker for a Woodford Green boy with cerebral palsy after he had outgrown it and was struggling to get around.
Julie Irvine approached the charity Remap Essex West to see if it could help improve the stability of the walker for her son Miles.
The charity helps people with disabilities to improve their quality of life by making things that cannot be bought commercially.
NORTH Wales Police is marking National Volunteers Week 2021 with a week-long social media campaign to highlight the contribution of volunteers in the Force. From Special Constables and Police Cadets to BikeSafe volunteers, Community Horsewatch, Search and Rescue Advisor and many others, North Wales Police volunteers help build important links between the police and communities, providing opportunities for individuals to make a positive contribution to their local area. Many of the force s officers and staff also volunteer to give their time with other agencies – such as the RNLI, the Scouts, Mountain Rescue Teams, the Coastguard, Childline and are involved with local clubs and sports.
