After the expert conference, it is clear: The European Medicines Agency (EMA) sees a possible connection between the corona vaccine from AstraZeneca and very rare thromboses in vaccinated people. The EMA announced on Wednesday.
Thrombosis occurred mainly in women under 60 years of age within two weeks of vaccination. Blood clots should be listed as a rare side effect of the AstraZeneca vaccine, it says. Specific risk factors have not been confirmed based on the findings to date.
Despite very rare cases of brain thrombosis, the EU Medicines Agency EMA unreservedly recommends the use of AstraZeneca’s corona vaccine. The EMA explained that the benefits of the active ingredient should be rated higher than the risks.
