NCAA & NJCAA OTF National Athletes of the Week (April 27)
NEW ORLEANS – National Athletes of the Week for April 27 were announced on Tuesday by the U.S. Track & Field and Cross Country Coaches Association (USTFCCCA).
Here are those individuals who earned national honors from the USTFCCCA for their efforts during the continuing outdoor track & field season.
NCAA Division I Men – JuVaughn Harrison, LSU
NCAA Division I Women – Tamara Clark, Alabama
NCAA Division II Men – Decio Andrade, Angelo State
NCAA Division II Women – Eilish Flanagan, Adams State
NCAA Division III Men – Kyle Rollins, St. John Fisher
NCAA Division III Women – Esther Seeland, Messiah
The NAIA National Office announced its National Athlete of the Week selections for outdoor track & field on Wednesday.
Matthew Van Eps of Dordt (Iowa) was named the Men’s Track Athlete of the Week after winning the 800 and anchoring the first-place 4×400 relay at the Sioux Falls Relay. Van Eps clocked a time of 1:50.3 in the 800 and led off the relay squad that finished in 3:16.08.
Jacob Keitkamp of Doane (Neb.) was named the Men’s Field Athlete of the Week after winning the high jump at the Jim Dutcher Memorial Classic in 2.15m (7-0½). Keitkamp also recorded a new PR in the javelin of 58.45m (191-9).
