There was a sharp rise in targeted killings, blasphemy cases, forced conversions, and hate speech targeting religious minorities.
In 2020, there reportedly were 30 Christians, including seven on death row, jailed in Pakistan on charges of blasphemy, said the report.

Hyderabad: Telangana State Waqf Board on Wednesday during an inspection of three major Waqf properties in Attapur stated that the board is going to take strict action against the land encroachers.
The board also removed illegally erected fencings on the encroached land of 10,000 square yards belonging to Waqf Board.
This move came after National Minorities Commission (NMC) vice-chairman Atif Rasheed on Sunday visited Hyderabad and said he will take up serious action against encroachers of Waqf properties in Telangana.

Hyderabad: National Minorities Commission vice-chairman Atif Rasheed on Sunday said he will take up serious action against encroachers of Waqf properties in Telangana. The NMC chief announced that he will suggest the Union Ministry of Minority Affairs to set up a special task force and enquiry committee to free all Waqf properties from “land mafia” and take action against the “illegal activities” going on in the Telangana State Waqf Board.

Vice chairman of National Minorities Commission, Atif Rasheed, visited Telangana State Waqf Board and a school of Telangana Minorities Residential Educational Institutions Society (TMREIS) and interacted with heads of department and other officials. Mr Rasheed, in the presence of TMREIS secretary B Shafiullah visited TMREIS’ Bahadurpura Girls – 2 school in Nawabsaheb Kunta where he was shown various initiatives and the school curriculum. He was also shown classrooms, dormitories, wellness centre, and dining halls, among other facilities. He interacted with the staff who explained to him how the schools have been functioning.
NEW DELHI: Senior government functionaries on Thursday took exception to former vice-president Hamid Ansari’s assertions in his recently-released autobiography that NDA felt entitled to get bills passed in Rajya Sabha even amid din, saying that the former chairman of the Upper House raised no objection when 13 bills were passed in similar circumstances between 2007 and 2014 under UPA.
