Kogi govt registers indigent households impacted by COVID-19 Kogi government says the register was designed as a shock response framework by the National Social Safety Net Programme (NASSP) in collaboration with the World Bank to cushion the effect of COVID-19 The Kogi State Government says it has started registration of the poor and vulnerable economically impacted by COVID-19 pandemic for them to be able to access the emergency Social Interventions’ Support. The state Commissioner for Finance, Budget and Economic Planning, Asiru Idris, who disclosed this in Lokoja, advised Kogi indigenes to take advantage and get themselves registered. The commissioner added that the government would sensitise the people toward the success of the programme.

Mr Dare, while expressing his sadness over the untimely death of Ms Umoren, commended all those who made efforts to save her life and ultimately exposed her attackers.

Punch Newspapers Sections Published 3 May 2021 Minister of Youth and Sports Development, Sunday Dare, has described the killing of a job seeker, Iniobong Umoren, in Akwa Ibom State, as saddening, adding that it was time the regime of the President, Major General Muhammadu Buhari (retd.), established a youth-based national unemployment register. Dare tweeted on Monday, “I am saddened to hear of how @HinyHumoren met her untimely death in the hands of such evil perpetrators. My heart goes out to her family and friends. I must also commend @UmohUduak1 for everything she did in trying to find her friend alive. May her soul rest in peace.
