If the duo of Basirat Shoyola and Dupe Oyebamiji knew that the burial they were going for in Lagos would be their last outing on earth, they probably would have politely declined the invitations.
They were a few kilometres away from their abodes when death struck. It was gathered that Shoyola and Oyebamiji were among those travelling to Lagos to honour a colleague and family friend holding a burial.
Fourteen nurses, two hospital attendants and a driver were involved in the accident which occured on the Abeokuta-Lagos Expressway on April 18, 2021. The accident claimed two lives while 10 others sustained varying degrees of injury.

The once adjudged most peaceful state in Nigeria, Ogun, is fast losing its grip to banditry, kidnapping, farmers-herders clashes, cultism among others, DAILY POST reports.
At the moment, cases of kidnapping have become a day-to-day activity in Ogun State, making major headlines on pages of newspapers.
Our correspondent observed that in the past one month, hardly would a week pass by without a case of kidnapping in the state.
The kidnappers are now in all the three senatorial districts of the state, with Ogun West being the most affected.
Unfortunately, Abeokuta, which is the capital, is not spared despite being the state headquarters of all security agencies.

In 2019, shortly after he assumed office, Buni tied the knot with Ummy, a daughter of his predecessor and incumbent Yobe East Senator Ibrahim Gaidam.
Gumsu, 45, is the governor’s fourth wife. Her marriage to Cameroonian multi-billionaire, Bayero Mohamadou crashed in 2020.

The high-level insecurity in the country, which has culminated in the spate of kidnappings in Ogun State, has compelled health workers in the state, under the aegis of the National Association of Nigerian Nurses and Midwives, NANNM, and Nigerian Medical Association, NMA, to withdraw their services from public health institutions.
This came on a day some bandits, yesterday, abducted three women at Onipe community in Idi Ayunre area of Ibadan, Oyo State.
But as a way of ensuring safety on highways in the South-West, President of the National Union of Road Transport Workers, NURTW, Tajudeen Baruwa, stated that the union has embarked on electronic tracking of its cars.
