Sequoyah High School Holds Technical Signing Day For Students Thursday, April 15, 2021 Together with other schools from around the nation today, Sequoyah High School held a National Technical Letter of Intent Signing Day. 16 SHS students who will be entering the Tennessee College of Applied Technology at Chattanooga State for the 2021-22 school year took part in a signing ceremony.  This national event sponsored by the National Coalition of Certification Centers mirrors the NCAA’s National Signing Day for athletes who commit to play sports in college. It is designed to honor students who are entering a technical field and to celebrate the dignity of work.

Chattanooga State Employee Excellence Awards Announced Monday, April 5, 2021 - by Betty Proctor, Chattanooga State Chattanooga State Community College announced the winners of 2020-2021 Employee Excellence Awards. Excellence Award winners all embrace the characteristics of teamwork, integrity, productivity, and professionalism to ensure student success. This year’s winners include Rebecca Aslinger, Jeffery Long, Tabitha Banks, Doug Morris, and Susan Jennings.  Rebecca Aslinger, Community College Teaching Excellence Award. With extensive teaching experience, Ms. Aslinger, an assistant professor of Early Childhood Education, possesses a deep knowledge base and brings unparalleled energy to the classroom on a daily basis. Her focus on student success compels her to absorb additional knowledge through learning opportunities such as high impact practices that in turn benefit her students, while her flexibility to meet the needs of her students, such as moving a class to Satu

Salina Tech to host virtual signing day this year

The Salina Journal In its second year at Salina Area Technical College, the National Career and Technical Letter of Intent Signing Day will move to a virtual setting this year. Because of limitations due to COVID-19, Salina Tech will host its signing day on Facebook, with a pre-recorded broadcast starting at 11 a.m. on April 15. Salina Tech is asking incoming students to submit photos or short videos of their signing and that will be incorporated into the Facebook video. Students participating in the event will receive a Salina Tech T-shirt and cap and a $500 scholarship, with half applied to the fall 2021 semester and the other half to the spring 2022 semester. Salina Tech said to participate, students must have applied and been accepted to Salina Tech before March 2 and register for the Signing Day event.
