Perry High School s National Art Honor Society students have a chance to win $50,000.  They made it to the Top 50 in the Vans Custom Culture Contest they re the only school in Georgia on that list. For the contest, students had to customize blank Vans shoes around two specific themes. For the first theme, Hometown Pride, students decorated shoes as the Georgia National Fairgrounds. For the second, Head in the Clouds, students picked what they want to see for a better world which is a clean, pollution-free environment.

Downtown State College presents May Day Art & Garden Walk to support local businesses and artists | Lifestyle

May is just around the corner, and hoping to start the month off with community engagement, the Downtown State College Improvement District is organizing the May Day Art & Garden Walk this weekend. The organization is teaming up with local businesses to showcase art and flowers from 5-8 p.m. Friday and from 12-5 p.m. Saturday throughout the streets and plazas of town. Lee Anne Jeffries, the executive director of Downtown State College Improvement District, said her goal is to bring more people downtown, which she said has been difficult to accomplish during the pandemic. After organizing a holiday art walk in December, Jeffries said the retail advisory committee proposed a similar event in the spring.

Fleetwood High honors April Students of the Month

Kylie Frain Kylie is the daughter of Barry and Stacey Frain of Blandon. Kylie’s future plans include attending Kutztown University. Kylie has been involved in the following clubs and activities at Fleetwood Area High School: Film Club President, Interact Club, Future Business Leaders of America, National Art Honor Society (NAHS), NAHS President, Artifact, Sustainable Students and National Honor Society. - Advertisement - Also, Kylie has dedicated herself to the community by being actively involved in Girl Scouts for 13 years and volunteering at Helping Harvest and the Fleetwood Library. Kylie states that she admires director, Chole Zhao because she a huge inspiration for her.
