My brother was critically injured in a mass shooting atop the Empire State Building almost 25 years ago. Every time another such shooting makes headlines it breaks my heart to know that other families are experiencing the same shock, horror and grief that ours has.
It also breaks my heart to see gun control supporters, part of a movement I once helped to lead, repeat the mistakes that doom us all to the unacceptable status quo: tens of thousands of shooting deaths a year.

House Democrats are launching a full court press on Background Checks.
U.S.A. –-(AmmoLand.com)- House Democrats, aided by three Republicans, on Tuesday announced the introduction of H.R. 8, the so-called “Bipartisan Background Checks Act of 2021,” confirming reports from a day earlier that the House of Representatives under Speaker Nancy Pelosi would soon be launching a full-court press on gun control.
The announcement confirms a report at Politico stating, “Next week, the Dems’ agenda will be universal background checks, the Charleston loophole and a labor rights bill called the Pro Act as well as the massive coronavirus bill that comes over from the Senate.”
