May 5, 2021 May 5, 2021 Ahead of its  proposed creation of additional Polling Units to ease voter access to Polling stations on election days, the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) on Tuesday commenced a nationwide verification exercise for centres where voting units would be converted to polling units across the country, INEC had earlier indicated it’s desire to convert the existing voting points across the country to Polling Units in its determination to reduce the pains of eligible voters during elections. INEC Chairman, Prof. Mahmood Yakubu, who commenced the exercise with visits to some of the proposed centres and existing Polling units in FCT and Nasarawa state,  said that the purpose of the verification exercise was to ensure that the right thing was done in the conversion of the voting points to polling units.
