Chinese President Xi Jinping has said he will work with President Abdul Hamid and Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina to strengthen the complementarities between two development strategies, advance Belt and Road cooperation, and take the strategic partnership of cooperation to a new height. We must always remember what the elder generation of leaders did for growth of China-Bangladesh relations, and shall pass on the baton of the China-Bangladesh friendship to future generations, he said.
In a pre-recorded speech, President Xi wished Bangladesh prosperity and its people happiness. May the China-Bangladesh friendship last from generation to generation!

Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina today said there was no chance for Bangladesh to look back as it was the time to march forward. Overcoming all obstacles, we shall establish this country as Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman s exploitation-, deprivation-free; hunger-, poverty-, illiteracy-free, non-communal Golden Bangladesh, she said.
The prime minister was delivering her speech as the chair of the inauguration ceremony of the 10-day long Mujib Year and Golden Jubilee of Independence at the National Parade Square in the capital.
It is not so easy to lower the position that Bangladesh has reached, Hasina said, adding that an excellent example of this is that the country has been able to successfully tame the destructive waves of the coronavirus pandemic. But we have to be very careful.
Bangabandhu’s birth centenary: Ten day celebrations begin in Bangladesh
Dhaka, Mar 17 (UNI) A ten-day program was organized at the National Parade Square to mark the birth centenary of Father of the Nation Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman and the golden jubilee of independence.
The event was organized by the National Implementation Committee to celebrate the birth centenary of Father of the Nation Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman.
The event was officially inaugurated at Sher-e-Bangla Nagar National Parade Square on Wednesday (March 17) afternoon. President Abdul Hamid, Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina and President of Maldives Ibrahim Mohammed Solih attended the function.
