With the continued wintry weather, schools were closed today.
We ve reached out to see which schools will be closed on Thursday, February 18, as well.
So far, we ve heard from schools in the following parishes:

Acadia Parish
Acadia Parish public schools will be closed on Thursday. Here s the statement:
The Acadia Parish School System will remain closed on Thursday, February 18, 2021 due to continued challenges with winter weather conditions. We will continue to assess facilities, water systems across the parish, electrical power and road conditions during the day on Thursday. Two members of the Louisiana Ragin Cajuns recently received major preseason accolades from a highly-respected college softball website, as they get set to begin the 2021 college softball season.
On Wednesday, senior pitcher Summer Ellyson and senior outfielder Ciara Bryan were tabbed Secon-Team All-Americans by Justin s World of Softball.
The Sun Belt Conference Preseason Pitcher of the Year in both 2019 and 2020, Ellyson put together an 11-1 mark and a 1.83 ERA during the COVID-19 shortened 2020 season, after going 39-6 in 2019.
Ellyson, who has compiled an impressive career record of 74-17, was named a Third-Team NFCA All-American, perceived by most as the most prestigious All-American selection in the sport, following the 2019 season.

Today s Cool School is Teurlings Catholic High School here in Lafayette!
Even though we re heading toward winter, Louisiana s climate allows plenty of year round growing.
Students in Mrs. Joy LeBlanc s environmental science class planted their fall crops and are already getting some results! High schoolers here are harvesting some of the radishes from their garden!
Looks like they ll have a full salad bar in the near future! Way to go Rebels!
