Bharti Airtel Posts Fourth-Quarter Net Profit on Strong Domestic Mobile-Services Business

The Indian telecom company said Monday that profit came to 7.59 billion rupees ($103.6 million) for the quarter ended March compared with a net loss of INR52.37 billion a year earlier. That missed the estimate of INR14.33 billion taken from a poll of analysts by S&P Global Market Intelligence. Revenue increased to INR257.47 billion from INR237.23 billion. The company said it hasn t noted a material impact from the Covid-19 pandemic but will continue to monitor and evaluate changes in macroeconomic and other factors.

Foxconn Shares Skid Amid Sector Underperformance

The iPhone assembler s Taiwan-listed shares fell to an intraday low of NT$106.00, their lowest level since Jan. 13, according to FactSet. Reports of a slump in production at a Foxconn factory in India because of workers infected with Covid-19 further weighed on the stock. Shares of the company, formally known as Hon Hai Precision Industry Co., were recently at NT$106.50, down 5.8%, underperforming the benchmark Taiex s 4.4% decline.
