Texas will release new album Hi on May 28th.
The Scottish group s 10th album, it was signalled by a brand new single just before Christmas, co-starring the mighty Wu-Tang Clan.
Out on May 28th, this new album illustrates the band s depth, and features collaborations with Richard Hawley and Altered Images icon Clare Grogan.

Texas have confirmed the release of their 10th studio album. Hi will arrive on May 28 via BMG and feature the Scottish band s Wu-Tang Clan collaboration of the same name, along with guest spots from Richard Hawley on Dark Fire and Clare Grogan of Altered Images on Look What You ve Done.
Its 14 tracks were inspired by the shelved outtakes from the recording sessions for their 1997 LP White On Blonde . Singer Sharleen Spiteri said: Our excitement at finding this treasure trove of songs collided with our excitement back then and, unplanned, new songs started coming. You could say we were inspired by ourselves!

Texas flex their “rock soul muscle” on their upcoming 10th studio album, ‘Hi’.
Three years ago, Sharleen Spiteri and bass guitarist Johnny McElhone stumbled on some outtakes from the Scottish rock group’s 1997 LP ‘White on Blonde’ and had intended on turning them into a “lost album”, but they were instead inspired to pen new tracks in the same vein, which make up the follow-up to 2017’s ‘Jump on Board’.
Bandleader Sharleen said: “Our excitement at finding this treasure trove of songs collided with our excitement back then and, unplanned, new songs started coming.
“You could say we were inspired by ourselves!”

“The British are coming!”. With these infamous words at the 1982 Oscars, Colin Welland collected his trophy for the Chariots of Fire screenplay. Perhaps surprisingly, though, he lost the Bafta that year to a proudly Scottish success story.
That film was Gregory’s Girl, the tale of a shy, lanky schoolboy (John Gordon Sinclair) and his hapless attempts to woo the girl (Dee Hepburn) who has taken his place on the football team. This unassuming romantic comedy, which celebrates its 40th anniversary this month, is a classic example of a low-key production which could have disappeared, but won such enthusiastic word-of-mouth acclaim that it ended up becoming a far bigger hit than its Glaswegian director, 34-year-old Bill Forsyth, ever dreamed of.
