A newly launched leadership programme that will provide highly-subsidised targeted training for the hospitality and tourism industry in the Mid-West region.
Developing Leaders for Hospitality and Tourism, funded through the Government’s Skills to Advance initiative, is the first of two new upskilling programmes being rolled out nationwide and is being offered online through Limerick and Clare Education and Training Board’s College of Further Education and Training, Hospitality Campus in Limerick.
Developing Leaders for Hospitality and Tourism is a QQI Level 6 Major Award comprising of key management modules including; Communications, Business Management, Marketing Management, Supervisory Management, Personal and Professional Development, Human Resource Management, and Conflict Management.
Refurbishment of County Limerick national school get go-ahead By Live95 News Team Approval has been granted to refurbish the main building at Glenroe Community National School.
The works have been given the go-ahead by the Department of Education and will get underway shortly.
Glenroe CNS opened last September with Julie O’Connor appointed as Head Teacher in June.
It s the first Community National School in Limerick and joins a growing network of such schools throughout Ireland.
Commenting on the approval, George O’Callaghan, Chief Executive of Limerick and Clare Education and Training Board, said: “The process has commenced whereby a design team appointed by the ETB will draw up plans to refurbish the existing building, appoint a contractor and manage the construction project over the coming months to provide state-of-the-art facilities for the pupils in the school.”
Limerick and Clare Education and Training Board’s College of Further Education and Training, Hospitality Campus, has launched a new leadership programme, Developing Leaders for Hospitality and Tourism, funded through the Skills to Advance initiative and aimed at providing targeted training for the hospitality industry at this challenging time.
Skills to Advance is a national initiative that provides upskilling and reskilling opportunities to employees in jobs undergoing change and to those currently employed in vulnerable sectors. Under Route 3 of this initiative, three programmes have been developed nationally in collaboration with industry partners, offering upskilling opportunities to those in team leadership and supervisory management roles.
