Verizon’s exclusivity on the Clearly White Pixel 4a 5G is over with. This evening as scheduled, the Pixel 4a 5G with a white paint job has gone up for sale, giving folks not wanting to pay Verizon’s mmW network tax another choice.
To be clear, the unlocked Pixel 4a 5G in Just Black or Clearly White will work just fine on the majority of Verizon’s network. However, unlike Verizon’s $599 version of the Pixel 4a 5G, the unlocked version does not have 5G mmW support, so it’ll only work on their nationwide 5G and 4G LTE networks. Trust me, that’s all you need.
After launching in the U.S. in late January, the ‘Clearly White’ Pixel 4a 5G is now available in Canada through the Google Store.
The smartphone, which released back in October 2020, was previously only available in ‘Just Black.’ Just like its darker counterpart, the Clearly White Pixel 4a 5G costs $679. It’s worth noting that instead of a black power button, the white version of the device features a lime green switch.
The smartphone features a 6.2-inch 1080 x 2340 pixel resolution OLED display, a 5G-capable Qualcomm Snapdragon 765G processor, 6GB of RAM and a 3,800mAh battery. The Pixel 4a 5G also includes a dual-lens rear camera array that features a 12.2-megapixel rear shooter coupled with a 16-megapixel ultra-wide camera.
Clearly White unlocked Google Pixel 4a 5G variant arriving to the US soon
Google surprised us when it launched three Pixel devices this year, but it also surprised some when it only released the Pixel 4a and 4a 5G in black models while the more expensive Pixel 5 got the Sage Green option. Eventually, a Clearly White variant would arrive as a Verizon-exclusive, and more recently a Barely Blue Pixel 4a arrived back in November.
That Clearly White Pixel 4a 5G is now arriving to the US as an unlocked variant and will no longer be a Verizon-exclusive. The new variant was listed by the retailer B&H Photo Video as “Coming soon” with a pre-order date of January 28. It will still cost the same $499 price tag that it has on the Google Store website.
