At 4:35 p.m., authorities arrived on the scene north of CR 1. A Ford F-150 and Ford Taurus were northbound on CR 5 and nearing CR 1 when the driver of a Honda Accord crossed the center line. This caused the F-150 to swerve off the road and strike a wood post, reports said. The Honda Accord and the Ford Taurus collided head on. Both cars suffered heavy front-end damage. The driver of the Honda Accord was Gabrielle Parrott. The 27-year-old female was arrested for operating a motor vehicle while intoxicated-prior, police reported. Parrott complained of chest pain, and was transported to Elkhart General Hospital by police.
