Police and firefighters were sent to the home around 1:45 p.m. after a woman called 911 to report her mother dead inside of a bedroom. The woman told dispatch that her father, who had dementia, admitted to killing the woman and then barricaded himself inside a room. The first responding officer reported the man was covered in blood and requested EMTs to assist.
An officer found the woman and secured the home while firefighters declared her dead.
Concord police were still processing the scene early Saturday morning.

Police were investigating a “suspicious death” in Concord on Friday.
Attorney General John Formella and Concord Police Chief Bradley Osgood said there was no ongoing threat to the public.
Few details were released by officials, including the time, location and nature of the death.
Several residents reported seeing a heavy police presence in Concord in the area of South Spring Street on Friday afternoon.
