Updated: 4:17 PM CST Feb 6, 2021 KETV Staff Report A man who barricaded himself in a construction site in Council Bluffs was taken into custody with injuries Friday night. Council Bluffs police say 40-year-old Ryan Linehan, of Omaha, hid in an excavator at a construction site when officers tried serving a felony arrest warrant around 11 a.m. Officers told KETV NewsWatch 7 that Linehan refused to exit the equipment for three hours, then pulled out a handgun.Council Bluffs police said eight hours into the standoff, officers deployed Oleoresin Capsicum rounds into the cab of the excavator. That s when officers say Linehan used his gun to shoot his lower jaw.Streets were shut down for hours near East Kanesville Boulevard and Baughn for most of the afternoon during the standoff.The incident ended around 7 p.m. when officers took the suspect into custody. He was taken to the hospital in critical condition for injuries sustained during the incident. Council Bluffs

A bicyclist suffered severe head trauma Wednesday night when he was struck by a car in El Cajon, police said.
The man was riding in a bicycle lane on South First Street near Lexington Avenue about 7 p.m. when the sedan struck him while making a turn into a driveway, El Cajon police Lt. Will Guerin said.
Officers found the victim conscious but bleeding from his head with “severe . obvious head trauma” and a possible broken leg, Guerin said. He lost consciousness as medics took him to Sharp Memorial Hospital in San Diego.
It was unknown if the victim’s injuries were expected to be life-threatening, according to Guerin.
Police search for downtown shooting suspect
The Turlock Police Department is looking to identify the man who fired a gun inside a downtown Turlock nightspot.
The shooting happened around 1:30 a.m. Friday at The Udder Place at 110 W. Main St.
There were no injuries reported from the shooting.
There were about eight people in the establishment at the time, including the suspect and employees, said The Udder Place General Manager Devin Hill.
Service had ended and patrons were leaving. The suspect was near the back entrance when he pulled out the gun and fired it into the ceiling.
Hill said the suspect had not been involved in any sort of confrontation with anyone in the business prior to him firing the shot.
