BAKERSFIELD, Calif. (KERO) â A man accused of a 2017 murder has been acquitted following a jury trial. Amid his acquittal, the District Attorney s Office is warning against internet-based apps to arrange sales and meetings with complete strangers for sales of items.
A Kern County jury found Michael Johnson not guilty of both first-degree murder and robbery charges after deliberating on the evidence presented during the trial.

The Bakersfield Police Department are investigating after a shooting that took place in South Bakersfield leaving two men with moderate to major injuries.
According to BPD officers responded to the 1000 block of Snyder Lane after A shotspotter activation reported 25 rounds fired in the area. After Investigating Officers discovered two adult males were transported by private means to local hospitals with gunshot wounds. One victim suffered from moderate injuries and the other had major injuries. Both are currently in stable condition.

BAKERSFIELD, Calif. (KERO) â The Bakersfield Police Department has identified Anthony Daniel, 19 as an additional suspect in this investigation.
On Tuesday around 3:30 p.m., detectives apprehended Daniel in the 2700 block Morin Court.
Daniel was later transported and booked into the Kern County Jail in connection with this murder investigation.
The Kern County Coroner s Office has identified the victim of the shooting as 18-year-old Emmanuel Alfaro Arechiga.
According to the Bakersfield Police Department, at around 9:30 a.m. police were dispatched to the 2800 block of Echo Avenue where they found Arechiga in a car suffering from a gunshot wound. An 18-year-old woman was also found in the car.
