Nursery Management 2021 Horticultural Leadership Awards - Peace Tree Farm Lloyd Traven strives to empower the next generation and do business his way at Peace Tree Farm. Lloyd Traven didn’t plan on working in the horticulture industry. The son of a Russian Jewish immigrant father and an American mother, Traven originally planned to become a doctor. In fact, Lloyd was in college taking medical classes and plants were not on his radar.  “For us, it was all about education,” Traven says. “So if you work hard enough and apply yourself, you can be a doctor and if you’re not a doctor you don’t have a job. At least that was my father’s idea.”
