In a Tuesday news release, RCMP said they received a report at about 3 p.m. Sunday of a possible drowning near the summer village of South View on Isle Lake, about 95 km west of Edmonton.

Police said a preliminary investigation shows the canoe turned over into the water from the wake of a passing motor boat.
About half an hour later, occupants of another boat stopped and helped pull two people out of the water and bring them to shore.
