2021 Blues Fest, other events at new outdoor venue April 06 2021
The Lot at Zidell Yards in South Waterfront will offer daily entertainment from May to September.
The Waterfront Blues Festival will make a comeback this year at a new location The Lot at Zidell Yards, which will hold other outdoor entertainments events along the Willamette River this year.
The annual Blues Festival was canceled last year because of the COVID-19 pandemic. It is now scheduled over the Fourth of July weekend, July 2 to 5, with changes to increase safety. They include social distancing at the new location between the Ross Island Bridge and the Tillicum Crossing in the South Waterfront neighborhood.
From The City Club of Eugene:
Eugene has turned its back on the Willamette River for more than a hundred years. Finally, after more than a decade of planning, public process, and negotiations, the City of Eugene and private developers are taking the next steps in the Downtown Riverfront Redevelopment project in Eugene. Developers Dike Dame and Jim Atkins of Atkins Dame Inc. in Portland are forging ahead with ambitious plans for the former Eugene Water & Electric Board (EWEB) land on the Willamette River. The project on the west riverbank is adjacent to the 5th Street Market District and a few minutes’ walk north of downtown.
