Sedalia Police Reports For May 3, 2021

Early Monday morning, a traffic stop was conducted near the intersection of East 16th Street and South Thompson Avenue. Following an investigation, the driver of the vehicle was determined to not have a license. Emilio Ax Xol, 46, of Sedalia, was arrested for Driving Without a Valid License and transported to the Sedalia Police Department. Xol was processed and then released with a municipal court date.
Sunday morning, Officers responded to the parking lot of the Wal Mart store, 3201 West Broadway Boulevard, in reference to a subject check. An Officer made contact with a subject in a vehicle. The vehicle information was run through Dispatch, who confirmed the vehicle was stolen. The subject s information was run and the subject was confirmed to four Failure to Appear warrants out of Sedalia on original charges of Operating a Motor Vehicle Without Maintaining Financial R

Kamloops, B.C., photographer Mark Lazzarotto is one of four photographers from B.C. to be selected in a photo competition organized by the U.K. High Commission in Ottawa to celebrate the global climate change summit to be held in Glasgow this November.

The River Forecast Centre said recent precipitation and ongoing snowmelt has led to a rise in river levels through the region over the past few days. Temperatures are easing, with freezing temperatures observed at mid-elevations overnight. As of April 1 readings, the snowpack depth in both the North Thompson (103 per cent of normal) and South Thompson (100 per cent of normal) basins was about average. The River Forecast Centre said weather into the week is expected to remain relatively stable, with no significant amounts of rainfall expected, but temperatures are expected to gradually warm in the next few days. The public is advised to stay clear of the fast-flowing rivers and potentially unstable riverbanks during the high-streamflow period.

When you look at it now you assume it s always been a park, until you peel back the layers. It s had multiple uses and occupations, LeBourdais said. That piece of land has seen many different footprints that span thousands and thousands of years. It s transformed, but it s always been a place of gathering.
