City of Jackson gives update on repairs to Jackson Maddox Well System

By WJTV May 25, 2021 | 7:47 PM JACKSON, Miss. (WJTV) – On Tuesday, the City of Jackson released an update on the Jackson Maddox Well System. According to leaders, the Siwell Road well was put back online with a temporary pump on Saturday, May 22. Contractors are working to find a permanent replacement pump for the well, along with some other additional parts. A timeline for the second part of this repair will be forthcoming. In the meantime, water service has been restored to this area. The contractor has now moved on to the TV Road well to assess the cause of its failure. The contractor determined that the bottom shaft of the well piping structure broke, and needs to be replaced. The contractor is evaluating the pump, motor, and other components of the well to ensure they are functioning properly. This comes after two wells on the Jackson Maddox Well Water System went offline. One homeowner, Joe Mitchell, has had to deal with little to no water in her home for about four days. She said the experience is frustrating. “You would call to the water company, and they would transfer you to one company to another. And then when you do get someone, they would talk so fast that they don’t give you time to ask a question or receive an answer. I had a problem with that,” she said.
