A woman and a child were struck by a vehicle Thursday in Gage Park, leaving the child in “grave,” condition, fire officials said.
The incident happened about 8 p.m. in the 5500 block of South Kedzie Avenue, Chicago fire officials said.
A child was transported to the University of Chicago’s Comer Children’s hospital in grave condition, officials said.

A man who was wounded in a shooting over the summer in suburban Markham has died from his injuries.
Zavion Sellers, 19, was pronounced dead at 3:33 a.m. Monday, according to the Cook County medical examiner’s office.
He was shot in the head about 7:25 p.m. July 5 in the 15300 block of South Kedzie Avenue in Markham, the medical examiner’s office said.
An autopsy found he died of complications from his gunshot wound and ruled his death a homicide, the medical examiner’s office said. He lived in Harvey.
Markham police did not immediately respond to a request for details.
