Liddy Tayag Waling LOS ANGELES Liddy Tayag Waling, 75, former longtime resident of Wilmington, died Friday, Dec. 18, 2020, due to COVID-19 at Southern California Hospital at Culver City, Los Angeles, California. She was born March 20, 1945, in Angeles City, Philippines. Liddy graduated from Santa Ysabel High School and received a diploma from St. Scholastica College in Manila, Philippines. Liddy was an accomplished clothing designer and seamstress, having been taught to sew at the age of 7, and learning to create her beautiful pieces without the use of a pattern. For a time, while living in Washington state, Liddy owned a custom clothing design and alteration shop. She specialized in wedding dresses and headpieces. She had the honor of designing, altering and sewing wedding dresses for several friends and family members, which are treasured memories. In her later years, she developed a love of crochet and embroidery.
