Chicago Fire Department A 53-year-old man was killed when a fire broke out in a home early Friday in Little Village on the Southwest Side. Firefighters responded to a call of a blaze at a home in the 2600 block of South Harding Avenue around 3 a.m., Chicago fire officials said. Another person was transported to a hospital for an issue not related to the fire, officials said. Four people were displaced from their home, according to fire officials. Man dies in Little Village house fire, 4 people displaced

Chicago Fire Department A man was found dead in a fire early Friday in a Little Village home on the Southwest Side, according to the Chicago Fire Department. Firefighters responded about 3 a.m. and found the man, 53, dead in an attic of a home in the 2600 block of South Harding Avenue, Chicago Fire Department spokesman Larry Merritt said. A woman in her 40s fainted outside of the building and was taken by paramedics to a St. Anthony Hospital in good condition, according to Merritt, who said it was unrelated to the fire. Four people were displaced from their homes, he said. The cause of the fire hasn’t been determined. Merritt said there were no working smoke detectors.

Sedalia Police Reports For April 5, 2021 This article is compiled from the Sedalia Police Department reports. Early Monday morning, Sedalia Police initiated a traffic stop on a motor vehicle for expired registration. Upon contact with the driver and occupant, Officers smelled the odor of marijuana coming from the vehicle. The vehicle was searched and marijuana paraphernalia and two marijuana joints were found. A city summons was issued to Megan E. Stevens, 27, of Green Ridge for Possession of Drug Paraphernalia with a court date. Both Stevens and the driver were released from the scene.   Sunday morning, Officers responded to the Prime Time Store, 216 West Broadway Boulevard, in reference to an assault that had just occurred. Officers arrived on scene and found the injured victim in the parking lot. The suspect is known to the victim. No contact has been made with the suspect at this time. Charges for Assault in the 3rd Degree will be sent to the prosecutor for review.
