Rochester, MN (KROC-AM News) - A standoff at a Rochester motel ended peacefully Monday evening. A Rochester Police Department news release says the situation was resolved around 8 PM when members of the department’s Emergency Response Unit entered a room at the Extended Stay America Motel and took a man into custody without the use of force. A woman in the same room as the man was unharmed. The situation began about 5 hours earlier when Rochester Police were called to the motel on Woodlake Drive Southeast near the South Broadway and Highway 52 interchange to deal with a domestic incident involving a person in crisis. The news release says the initial report indicated the man was agitated and possibly armed, with a woman inside the room with him on the second floor of the hotel.
