Start 2021 off by honoring and celebrating the life and accomplishments of the Rev. Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr. with College of Lake County (CLC). In most years the community is called to treat Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. Day as a day on , not a day off, and volunteer their time in honor of the civil rights leader. The same is true at College of Lake County (CLC) which in the past has partnered with United Way of Lake County to organize hundreds of volunteers to work projects at area social service agencies and schools. Unfortunately, the 2021 holiday will not be treated the same due to safety considerations related to COVID-19. However, the day will not pass without recognition. At least one CLC tradition will continue: a dramatic storytelling of Dr. King s life and impact on civil rights.
