WESTERN TREASURE VALLEY â As COVID-19 cases trend upward nationwide, Idahoâs long-term care facilities are seeing upticks in cases themselves. According to the Idaho Department of Health & Welfareâs weekly summary report dated April 2, the statewide case count in these facilities reached 9,370 and the number of affected facilities was at 317.Â
This week saw the first new outbreak reported statewide since March 12, and a total of 94 new cases were added over the total reported March 26. However, ten more facilities saw their outbreaks resolved, for a total of 254 resolved outbreaks.
As of April 2, 3,343 cases of COVID-19 remain active in 63 facilities. 177 facilities have experienced a combined 779 deaths.

Bundy Back Behind Bars in Ada County
Perhaps Idaho s most well-known conservative activist is back behind bars at the Ada County Jail this afternoon.
You may know the name Ammon Bundy . He s been around stirring up attention for various initiatives for years and during the COVID-19 pandemic, he has really garnered a lot of attention. Bundy and those who follow his movement had, on multiple occasions, organized gatherings to protest decisions being made by local health authorities. During one instance, Bundy and his crew met at the Southwest District Health offices where they demanded to be let into the meeting. Meeting guidelines were clearly set however some felt the need to push their way into the health district offices.
