The parking lot of the West Elgin Arena was more full than it had been in months on June 1, and that was because of a vaccination clinic. It was one of two locally organized clinics; the other was held May 25 at the Dutton Community Centre.
Both were authorized and organized by Southwestern Public Health. The Pfizer vaccine was dispensed.

The Dutton clinic was open to individuals 18 and older, but by June 1 pre-teens as young as 12 could receive a vaccine shot.
The Middlesex-London Health Unit reported 16 new COVID-19 cases and 38 recoveries on Sunday. This marks the tenth day in a row the region has seen fewer than 40 new cases.
