In 2015 they were inducted into New Zealand s Country Music Hands of Fame and the following year Paul Trenwith received the Queen’s Service Medal for services to country music.

An exhibition about New Zealand bluegrass pioneers the
Hamilton County Bluegrass Band is set to open at Waikato
Museum on 8 May.
The Hamilton County Bluegrass Band
was formed in the 1960s during a time when bluegrass music
was just starting to become popular in New Zealand. Founded
in Hamilton by Alan Rhodes and Paul Trenwith, the band
became a household name thanks to the hit TV show The
Country Touch. After relocating to Australia in 1971 to tour
with popular country musician Slim Dusty, the band moved
back to New Zealand in 1974, where they continue to produce
music to this day.

Indiana College Core (formerly the Statewide Testing General Education Core) ensures students the ability to earn college credits while still in high school.
Through Ivy Tech, Sullivan has 52 students that will be receiving certificates this year.
This includes the trades machine, welding and automotive and technical certificates involving more typical academic disciplines.
“Forty-seven students have committed to walk through graduation ceremonies,” said Southwest School Corp. superintendent Chris Stitzle. “That is very impressive.”
Sullivan High School counselor Katie Couch said that 30 hours of general education credit transfers between public colleges and universities.
“It is a great thing for the kids to get college credit while still in high school, “ she said. “Whether they want to go to college or just graduate and get a job, they still get a chance to learn skills that can help them once they graduate from high school.”
Hermosa Beach Council candidate Jackson wants more nimble city government

“We’re a small city,” said Hermosa Beach council candidate Raymond Jackson this week, “and one would think we’d be more nimble in our ability to get things done. It’s a source of frustration for residents and business owners, alike.”
Jackson said he wants “to try and help the city figure out where the choke points are, and achieve more efficiencies. I can help in that endeavor.”
It’s the first time he’s tossed his hat into any political ring, and he is not particularly partial to talking about himself. But he said he figures his “complex and varied skill set” is an asset he can offer to local voters.
