ALBANY, Ga. (WALB) - The last defendant connected to a major methamphetamine distribution ring in Southwest Georgia was sentenced, according to Peter Leary, acting U.S. attorney for the Middle District of Georgia.
Kim Wesley, 48, of Nashville, was sentenced Thursday by U.S. District Judge Leslie Gardner to 96 months in prison, along with eight years are supervised release. Wesley previously pleaded guilty to one count of distribution of meth.
“Wesley is one of 79 co-defendants in the 2016 Boris Fuller methamphetamine distribution wiretap investigation,” Peeler’s office said in a release. “All 79 defendants have been federally charged, convicted and sentenced.”

TALLAHASSEE, Fla. (WTXL) â Florida State University has canceled its Homecoming parade due to the potential of severe weather on Friday.
The ABC 27 First Alert Weather Team has given the following outlook for Friday:
Isolated non-severe scattered showers possible before dawn. During the day, spotty showers and storms are expected to form and move mainly north/northeast into southern Georgia.
Timeline: Noon to 9 p.m.
Areas of concern: Southwestern Georgia, interior western Big Bend (roughly I-10 to the state line)
Severe storm coverage: Isolated

On Saturday, the National Weather Service predicts a slight risk of severe weather, including heavy rain and damaging winds, throughout much of South Georgia.

Storms in Louisiana flooded several streets in New Orleans early this morning, according to a report from the Associated Press. Several roads were impassible after 3 to 5 inches of rain fell in a short time, emergency management officials said.
