Southwestern Integrated Fibre Technology (SWIFT) has signed five contracts worth $6.6 million to install fibre optic cable to serve rural residences and businesses in Perth County.

More than 860 residents and businesses across Perth County are one step closer to connecting to fast, reliable broadband internet following the recent signing of five broadband-infrastructure contracts for projects totalling $6.6 million.
Both the federal and provincial governments announced Tuesday they have each committed up to $1.8 million to boost economic and education potential in rural, remote and underserved areas of Perth County through an improved and modern broadband network.
