Paulette Martin stood on Saturday evening near a makeshift memorial for her brother, Robert Douglas Delgado, who police shot and killed at Lents Park on Friday.
Martin was moved by the outpouring of support for her 46-year-old brother, who she said suffered from mental illness and substance abuse.

Commissioner Jo Ann Hardesty said Tuesday s fire means the City Council must approve more homeless shelters.
A person and a dog were killed in a recreational vehicle fire early Tuesday morning.
Firefighters responded to the fire behind the Shalamar Apartments on Southeast Powell Boulevard around 2 a.m. on March 16. Another person and a dog who were in the vehicle escaped injury.
Portland Fire & Rescue said the fire was started by improper use of a propane heater used to keep the vehicle s occupants warm. Six such fires have happened so far this year, PF&R said.
At one point, firefighters were getting called out to three or four tent fires each day. Last month, a man died after being severely burned in a tent fire in Portland s Piedmont neighborhood. Investigators said the blaze likely came from a propane heating device.
Target to open new store in Northeast Portland in March

Target will open a new store in Portland’s Hollywood neighborhood on March 14.
The Minneapolis big-box retail giant is taking over the 42,000-square foot space formerly occupied by Orchard Supply Hardware at 4030 N.E. Halsey St. Prior to being renovated for use as a retail store, the building operated for more than 50 years as a bowling alley first Timber Lanes and later Hollywood Bowl.
“We’re excited to bring an easy, safe and convenient shopping experience to new guests in the community with this new Target store,” said a Target spokesperson in a statement.
