Toyota announced Wednesday that it will begin selling a factory TRD-branded lift kit for its midsize Tacoma pickup. This new kit is not only TRD-approved and backed by a factory warranty, but it is fully compatible with the new Toyota Safety Sense (TSS) tech that has been offered on the Tacoma since the 2020 model year. Toyota says it's good for a two-inch lift up front and about an inch in the rear.

The Toyota Tacoma TRD is already one of the best pickup trucks you can buy if your main interest is tackling off-road trails and crawling over rocks. And now, it’s getting even better with a new, factory-made lift kit certified by TRD engineers to work with the truck’s suite of driver-assistive safety technologies.
Toyota says this is the
only kit validated to work with Toyota Safety Sense, which is certainly a nice bonus for off-road enthusiasts who want their lifted truck to have a reliable automatic emergency braking system, among other such features.
Together with the Ford F-150, Chevrolet Silverado, Ram 1500, and GMC Sierra, the Toyota Tacoma was one of five trucks that made their way into the top ten list of best-selling vehicles on the American market in 2020. The Japanese carmaker achieved all this without having to turn to insane upgrade packages or by releasing an unhealthy number of special editions for it.
