Dispersal sale of in-lamb ewes taking place tomorrow at Dowra Mart
A dispersal sale of 90 in-lamb Suffolk and Texel cross mule ewes is set to take place tomorrow (Friday February 5) at Dowra Mart.
According to the owner, they are all genuine ewes and are being sold for no fault only due to a change in the farming system.
All of the ewes are scanned in-lamb to Texel and Charolais rams and are due to lamb from March 5 onwards. The average scan across the flock of ewes was 210%.
The sale will consist of:
23 hoggets;
46 three and four-year-old ewes.
On the day, ewes will be sold in lots of five upwards according to age. All of the ewes have been vaccinated for toxoplasmosis and enzootic abortion, as well as being done with Heptavac P, according to the owner of the flock.

Prices reached €340/head at a clearance sale of a prizewinning Cheviot ewe flock, which took place in Tullow Mart on Tuesday afternoon.
The flock of 120 three- and four-year-old in-lamb ewes was presented in pens of 10 by well-known sheep farmers David and Dylan Leybourne from Tullow, Co Carlow.
The ewes, which are scanned in-lamb to a pedigree Suffolk ram, are due to start lambing on 1 March, with the majority of lots carrying between six and seven sets of doubles.

A rare opportunity presents itself next Tuesday in Tullow Mart, with 120 top-quality three- and four-year-old Cheviot ewes going under the hammer in a flock clearance sale.
The flock is offered for sale by David and Dylan Leybourne and is well known in the region, with progeny each year placed among the prize-winning lineup at the Tullow Sheep Breeders Association annual breeding sales.
Ewes are being sold due to a change in farm enterprise.
