DULUTH, Minn A big announcement is about to be made at the Duluth International Airport in just days involving a “new air service.”
The announcement will be made this Tuesday during a press conference at 11 a.m. about a “new air service coming to the region,” according to Natalie Peterson, the Duluth Airport Authority’s director of communications and marketing. The event is not open to the public but will be streamed on DLH’s Facebook page.
The airport’s executive director, Tom Werner, will speak along with the vice president of the airport’s Board of Directors and a representative from the new air service.

Every morning or evening when we listen to our local weather forecasters, we hear how our high and low temperatures of the day compare to the averages for our area. What few people realize, however, is that our averages change over time and hence our perceptions of what is average or normal.
In fact, we now have a completely new dataset of average high and low temperatures to which our daily temperatures are compared.
At the beginning of each new decade 2021 in the current instance the temperature dataset used for the averages updates to the new averages based on the previous three decades. Meteorologists have been using the dataset from 1981 to 2010 as average temperatures for Duluth. But sometime this year they will begin using the dataset from 1991 to 2020.

DULUTH, Minn.- The Duluth International Airport has just received $1.6 million as part of grant money from Congress given to airports across Minnesota’s Eighth Congressional District.
It’s part of $4 million in federal dollars Congress awarded to help maintain a clean and safe environment for airport employees and travelers.
Leadership at DLH say the money will go toward maintenance safety and security to help lift up the 59 percent dip in passengers they saw in 2020.
Bemidji airport receives federal $1.01 million grant
More than $4 million in federal funding has been awarded to regional airports in grants from the FAA. The funding was initially approved by Congress at the end of 2020.

BEMIDJI The Bemidji Regional Airport was awarded a grant of more than $1 million last week to help offset impacts from the coronavirus pandemic.
According to a press release, $1.01 million was awarded to the airport s Authority Commission, which was funded through the Federal Aviation Administration s Airport Coronavirus Response Grant Program. The program was established in the Coronavirus Response and Relief Supplemental Appropriation Act of 2020, passed in December.
