The Professional Regulation Commission (PRC) has given 1,638 “provisional” teachers priority status in the 2021 Licensure Exam for Professional Teachers (LEPT), Education Secretary Leonor Briones said on Saturday, June 5.
DepEd said the teachers’ provisional appointments are set to expire by July this year.
“We are thankful to the PRC for immediately accommodating our request to include provisional SHS teachers in the first batch of examinees in this year’s LEPT. This would ensure that we have sufficient manpower to allow us to provide unhampered delivery of education services, especially during this time of health crisis,” Briones said in a statement on Saturday, June 5.

The Alliance of Concerned Teachers (ACT) held a motorcade and noise barrage at the Department of Budget and Management (DBM) to “wake the government up from its year-long slumber.”
ACT Secretary-General Raymond Basilio urged the national government to respond to the urgent needs of distance learning and education workers’ “overdue pay and hike and benefits.”

TALIBON, Bohol, May 23 (PIA) The San Jose National High School (SJNHS) here inches its way to becoming the district hub of technical and vocational skills training for school-based senior high schools into the electrical installation and maintenance (EIM) strand for solar power systems.
This as Vivant Foundation, the corporate social responsibility arm of Vivant which is into renewable energy development, donated solar panels, solar power installation, and maintenance tools as well as support equipment to SJNHS to further upgrade the school training capability for its senior high school students.

MARAWI CITY, Jan. 22 (PIA) - Task Force Bangon Marawi (TFBM) commenced construction on another new school building inside the most affected area (MAA) of the city.
TFBM chief Secretary Eduardo del Rosario led the groundbreaking rites for the construction of a four-storey school building in Brgy. Moncado Kadingilan on Thursday, Jan. 21.
The Php50 million building with 20 classrooms is the second of the 10 school buildings that will be constructed in ground zero under the Marawi City Integrated School project. The Department of Public Works and Highways (DPWH) is implementing the project through CDH Construction Inc.
